GIFTED • New notebooks! 👀 @leuchtturm1917usa sent me their new Jottbook Pur in both A5 and A6, and I was so excited to check them out. These lightweight little notebooks are perfect for on-the-go note-taking and come in so many cute colors. 🌈

I particularly love the A6 size, and how these both lay perfectly flat. And they fit in well with my usual Leuchtturm1917 B6+ (for comparison!)

After brainstorming some ways to add this notebook to my lineup or ecosystem, here’s what I got:

— Rough drafts for poems, stories, blog posts
— Yearly or seasonal list collections
— Leather journal inserts
— Bookish or study notes (the A6 can easily fit in the back of a book!)
— Month-to-month journaling
— Single project notebook
— Recipe/hobby journal
— Brain dump notebook
— Venting or therapy journal (won’t feel as guilty throwing out when done since it’s so small and affordable!)

What else could I use these notebooks for? 🤔 Any ideas?

Thank you L1917 for sending me these to try. 🫶🏻

Slowly reading The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath and documenting my every thought ✍️ I haven’t annotated my paperbacks in a while and I missed it. It’s really been helping me stay present and ensure the prose and epiphanies stick.

I wrote some more thoughts about the art of reading slowly on my blog — link you know where. 📖

Do you annotate your books? Why or why not??

💭 WHAT IS SEASONAL JOURNALING?
For me, it’s when I plan and keep a notebook for each season. My seasonal journals start in the month the season starts (so summer is June-August). The front section of the book is my bullet journal (planning, to-do lists, daily logs) and the back section is my diary (long-form thoughts and memory keeping). This is my 13th seasonal journal.

Excited to announce my new blog series, AFTERWORDS: A look at the poems in YOU AGAIN—where they came from, what inspired them, and what they mean to me now. One year later. ✍🏼

First post is up now you-know-where. If you have a favorite piece from YOU AGAIN you’d like me to include in the series, please let me know. 😊
