Better late than never, right? I went away on a little vacation last week and the week before that I was busy publishing our Aug/Sept 2016 issue of Cliché Magazine that I haven’t had much time to get a proper blog post up about my August Birchbox, which is sooo cute by the way! For the sake of getting back to relaxing before the summer unofficially ends soon, this one’s gonna be short and sweet. Let’s go!
First, The Good
If anyone knows haircare, it’s Oribe, and their Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray is pretty good. Although I wouldn’t stick a $39 price tag on it, I think it gets the job done pretty well. Would I buy it full-price? Probably not. But definitely gonna use up this samples til it’s gone. I also liked the moisturizing benefits of Avène’s Micellar Lotion ($20) while removing makeup, and the shade ‘Fantasy’ from Manna Kadar’s Cosmetics Day-Dream Palette ($25). I actually want this palette in a full-size now. The shades are among my favs, and it comes with a complimenting highlighter, bronzer, and blush. It’s a win/win.
On The Fence
I’ll be honest: I haven’t had a chance to use R+Co’s OBLIVION Restorative Gel Conditioner ($25) and OBLIVION Clarifying Shampoo ($24) just yet, as I’ve been on vacation and using my go-to, trusty routine, and I’m not sure how this formula combats my summer frizz problem (hahah). I’m eager to try it for my next wash, though! Might actually be wiser to use now as a summer detox… I also haven’t used the REN Flash Hydro Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion ($42) enough to notice any major differences just yet to justify the price tag (my Hydro Boost moisturizer gets the job done and costs only $20) but I think it’s a nice little treat that feels really lovely!
