I know I’m not alone in saying that I love Rifle Paper Co. And most importantly: I love when they collaborate with Birchbox. They designed their box last April and are back again for this gorgeous floral design, and are even offering 20% off your next order at riflepaperco.com for all Birchbox subscribers. I’m definitely going to take advantage of this, since I’ll be needing a new planner as of July 2016! Anyway, this month I selected the staff-curated box because everything sounded amazing! After trying out these products, it’s time to share my thoughts.
First, the Good
First up is PARLOR® by Jeff Chastain Volumizing Lifting Spray ($24). I’ve tried various products from this brand before and loved them all, and this volumizing spray is no different. It uses marshmellow root (which I didn’t even know was a thing) to enhance hair volume and give it gravity-defying lift. It also contains sweet almond oil for healthier, stronger hair. It’s a win/win and a definite must-try for anyone looking for a good volumizing spray.
Next is Marcelle’s 3-in-1 Micellar Solution ($21). I’ve been using micellar water with a cotton pad for a couple months now to remove makeup and it has seriously done wonders! It’s gentle, hypoallergenic, and free of parabens, oil, soap, and alcohol, which is perfect for my sensitive skin. Love it, and will use every drop of this sample.
Third is Laura Geller’s New York Baked Blush-n-Brighten in the shade Tropic Hues ($28). Not gonna lie: this is what attracted me to choosing this box! I’ve never really incorporated blush into my daily makeup routine, but I wanted to try. I like that this adds a flush of color while brightening your skin at the same time for a very natural look. So happy to have this!
The last of my favorites is actually high on the list: TOCCA’s Crema da Mano – Hand Cream in Giulietta ($10). As soon as I saw this product was sold out on Birchbox.com, it was pretty obvious why: it smells amazing. A mixture of green apple and pink tulips, this lotion is loaded with natural botanicals and absorbs quickly. It’s the perfect fragrance + hand lotion combo. I kind of want the perfume now, too, as it’s perfect for spring! Joining the waitlist for this product pronto.
On the Fence
I still haven’t made up my mind about Dr. Jart+ Liftra™ Contour Cream ($60), and yes, it is just as revolutionary as it sounds. This collagen-producing cream is the first of its kind that visibly lifts, firms, and plumps skin, giving you a natural-looking contour. I’ve only tried it a couple times and thought it worked well, but I’m not crazy about the price tag or the extra step (let’s face it: I’m pretty basic with my makeup routine). Maybe I’ll have different thoughts once I’m done with the sample though? Not writing it off just yet, as I love Dr. Jart+!
