While I’ve been attending New York Fashion Week for the past two years, one thing I did differently this season was go backstage—and in this case, backstage at Hervé Léger. And for my first backstage experience, it was exactly as I imagined it would be: there were beautiful models everywhere getting hair and makeup done, photographers rushing around and snapping away, and fellow press grabbing quotes from celebrity hair stylists and makeup artists about the beauty inspiration behind the collection. It was a whirlwind of headsets and assistants as soon as I stepped in, and it was such an interesting, eye-opening experience to see what goes on behind the scenes firsthand.

Highlights from my time there definitely included getting to watch TRESemmé Celebrity Hairstylist Orlando Pita create the braided crown on a few of the models for the show (it was so nice to finally meet him since I’ve been publishing his tips on ClicheMag.com for many months), as well as finally getting to meet Zoya Creative Director Rebecca Isa in person (she is the sweetest and gave me some Naked Manicure minis to take home!). All the hair and manicure tips I learned can be found on ClicheMag.com, and trust me, you’ll definitely want to check those out!

Now that NYFW is over for the year, I am already looking forward to next season in February… and hopefully I will get a chance to go backstage again!

A special thanks to Zoya and Hervé Léger for inviting me.
