Last Thursday, I attended GLOSSYBOX’s October Box Launch party at the Ludlow Studios in New York City, and after sipping champagne and making smallchat with other guests, I was introduced to renowned fashion illustrator Jamie Lee Reardin, who illustrated this gorgeous box (she was so kind!). Inspired by France, this box contains French favorites and staples, from a glossy red lip to a rose petal face gel. Since each guest got to take one of these boxes home, I couldn’t wait to dig in and try these products out!
First, the Good
My favorites from this box include that trendy red nail polish from Lollipops Make Up Paris in “Voyage a Paris” ($10). It’s just the perfect deep red. I also love that NUXE Gentle Exfoliating Gel with Rose Petals ($24); it was gentle enough for my sensitive skin, but still super effective and really left my face feeling soft, moisturized (because of the gel base), and clean. Finally, that Phyto Huile Soyeuse Lightweight Hydrating Oil ($40) is also pretty good; it helps keep smoothness locked in and humidity away like a charm!
On the Fence
I’m a bit on the fence about that De Bruyere Paris red lipgloss ($17.50), though, only because I’m not too crazy about a deep red lip on myself in general; I’m much more of a mauve or coral girl. However, this lipgloss was incredibly long-lasting, almost to the point that it acted a bit like a stain, which I liked. No need to keep reapplying! I’m also on the fence about La Roche-Posay’s Redermic ($57). It’s an anti-aging skin corrector, so I didn’t see much of a difference after applying it, although it is a good base for makeup; I just wouldn’t buy it at that price tag since I don’t have a need for it just yet.
Did you receive the October 2015 GLOSSYBOX? What did you think?
I received this box complimentary for review from GLOSSYBOX.
