While planning some content for my blog over the next few weeks, I realized something: I’ve posted plenty of beauty- and fashion-related content in the form of Rocksbox reviews and Birchbox updates, but haven’t published a personal post since April—and it was late birthday recap, no less. Now that things have been winding down a bit this week, I think now’s as good a time as any to catch you guys up a bit. From meeting magazine deadlines to binging Nintendo 3DS games like a kid, it’s safe to say that I’ve been pretty busy lately.
1. Since I moved in with my boyfriend in December, my schedule has been pretty much the same: slowly wake up at 7, do yoga and exercise for at least 30 minutes, hop in the shower, fix breakfast and tea, and start answering emails for Cliché Magazine. I usually work on Cliché and other projects until about 4:00 PM each day, but now that summer’s here, I’m aiming to finish a little earlier so I can go into the city in the afternoon and enjoy the beautiful weather! I’m usually so good with time management and getting my daily to-dos done in time, but now I definitely have to focus if I want to get out and do some sightseeing a couple times during the week.
2. Since we just launched Cliché Magazine’s June/July issue last week (which you should totally check out if you haven’t already), we’ve already begun working on Aug/Sept. While I can’t say too much about it yet, so far I’m really excited about some of the talent we’ll be featuring inside! For some reason, our Aug/Sept issue is always among my favorites. Maybe it has something to do with September TV premieres? So many celebs want to chat with us about new seasons!
3. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been playing my 3DS a lot. And I mean a lot a lot—like, at least 3 hours a weekday and 5 on the weekends. I even have my own tumblog @meganplusgames just for my gaming updates and screenshots. I’m a huge, huge fan of the Animal Crossing series and have been building up my town so diligently lately, from trying to secure my remaining 4 dreamies to finally achieving that “perfect town” rating. It’s so much fun. After a long day of work, emails, and proofreading, it’s nice to just play a carefree game and relax! If you play 3DS at all, then you’ve got to message me your friend code so I can add you!
4. Finally, I’ll be revamping @themesbymeg very, very soon. I always pick it up again in the summer and so far the new website is almost done and I’m working on two new themes to add for the launch: one free theme, and one premium theme. So many people have been asking me to update it and to make themes again, so I thought I’d put some new themes out this July! Look out for those soon.
‘Til next time! XO
